OKLAHOMA CITY – A 4-year-old boy was found wandering in the middle of an Oklahoma City intersection after leaving school during recess.

According to the Oklahoma City Police, one woman was driving near northwest 50th and Villa when she saw the boy in the middle of the road.

She said she was concerned for him because there were no adults around.

After police arrived two teachers pulled up from Monroe Elementary and confirmed the child was from their school, which is located about 3 blocks south of the intersection.

A substitute teacher said she let the children out for recess around 12:15 p.m.

She says the child snuck back inside and left to go back outside through another door of the building.

The substitute said she noticed the child missing around 12:20 p.m. when the school staff started searching for him.
