A massive amount of sensitive information is stored on your smartphone from pictures to banking information and personal texts and emails. If you are in the market for a new IPhone since it will be on store shelves September 19 need to makes sure you have wiped it clean.
Delete doesn’t always mean it is gone forever. You must reset your phone properly whether you are selling, trading or just donating it.
*If you own an Android make sure to go to “Settings” then “Encrypt phone”. This is crucial step often left out when resetting this type of phone. Once that is complete go back to “Settings’ select “Backup & Reset” then “Factory data reset.” This completes the process.
*If you own an iOS device or an IPhone product go to “Settings” and select “General” then “Reset” from there you will be prompted to select “Erase All Content and Settings.”
*Windows Phone: You go to the “App List’ and select “Settings” you will then go to “About” and “Reset your phone” You will need to answer “Yes” making sure you have backed up your data because it will give you a warning.
It is also recommended that you change all your key passwords like your iTunes, Google Play and email.
